Darkes Forest Ranch Australia's most popular children's group,
Saddle Club, is fully booked for 2008. If you would like to go on the 2009 Saddle Club list,
please contact
the office.
The Darkes Forest Saddle Club is a children's
group that gives members a regular opportunity to learn, make friends, and
build a great relationship with a horse. It's open to anyone who wants to
expand their knowledge of riding and caring for horses.
Registration for one year costs $70 -- this includes a high-quality Saddle
Club shirt, a folder of information for the year, and a short riding test
so that members can be graded (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
In addition to the registration fee, each of the Saddle Club sessions costs
$95 per three-hour session including the hire of a horse.
The Saddle Club meets once a month on Saturdays and Sundays for three hours
(either 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., OR 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). The Club sessions cover a
variety of topics throughout the year, such as:
- Grooming
- Saddling
- Safety around horses
- Preparation for Pony Club
- Riding skill improvement
- Horsemanship training
- Games and sporting skills
The Darkes Forest Saddle Club is ideal for those who are
planning to purchase a pony or horse, or who are getting ready to join Pony
Club. It's also a great alternative to the usual lesson, expanding your
knowledge of horses whilst you're having a fun, enjoyable day on horseback.
The $70 annual registration fee reserves you a horse for the year for all
Saddle Club activities, and covers the use of the tools involved in each
session. You will also receive your Saddle Club shirt.
If
you would like further information, please contact us.
(Children must be 7 years or older; alternatives are available for younger
children.)
